There were 78 bookings at the San Joaquin County Jail in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Wednesday. At that time, there were 1,342 people held at the jail, which has an official capacity of 1,665. When the jail is full, some inmates may be released early. Stockton Police
Weapons arrest: Officers conducted a probation search of a vehicle and a residence after conducting a traffic stop related to a brandishing investigation at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday near West Eighth Street and Interstate 5. Officers found ammunition, firearms, marijuana and a large amount of cash. Brandon Jones, 29, and Wilonie Turner, 28, were arrested on suspicion of drug and gun possession crimes. Battery on an officer: A suicidal man threatening to kill himself at 10:14 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Swain Road struggled with officers after failed negotiations. Kenneth Neimeyer, 50, kicked an officer and damaged a police car during the struggle. He was checked at a hospital before being booked into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of battery on an officer and resisting arrest.
Auto theft arrest: Officers stopped a vehicle for traffic violations about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday near North El Dorado and East Acacia streets and determined it had been stolen. The driver, 43-year-old Luther Hale, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft. Robbery: A 54-year-old woman getting home from work about 3:50 a.m. Wednesday in the 6800 block of Village Green Drive was accosted by two men with guns. They demanded her money and took a Kate Spade purse containing cash. Both were described as black men between the ages of 20 and 25 years old. One was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 150 pounds with a dark hooded sweatshirt. The other was about 5 foot 9 and 140 pounds with a red hooded sweatshirt. Resisting arrest: Officers assisting medics with a combative patient at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of East March Lane struggled to detain the man, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and pulled away from them. The man was taken to the ground and handcuffed, continued to struggle and was restrained. Korb Hem, 33, was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Strong-arm robbery: A security guard attempted to stop a shoplifter about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 10300 block of Trinity Parkway, but the shoplifter pushed the security guard and escaped. He fled in a white Toyota Camry, California license plate No. 7CUG175, which was driven by another male. Police identified the suspect as Rory Enni, 30, a white man who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
The Stockton Fire Department responded to 160 calls for service in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Wednesday, including five vehicle accidents, 121 medical calls and five structure fires.
