US Nitrogen Receives Patriotic Employer Award
US Nitrogen s human resources manager, Robbie Helton, has been recognized with a Patriotic Employer Award for the company s commitment to hiring National Guard and Reserve members at its Greene County plant, according to a recent news release. James Cross, area chair for Upper East Tennessee for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, presented Helton with the award in a ceremony at US Nitrogen. Approximately 20 percent of US Nitrogen s employees have previous military experience, according to the release.
Mike Musick, US Nitrogen security supervisor, nominated Helton for the award. Musick is a sergeant in the 730th Quartermaster Company with the Tennessee Army National Guard based in Erwin and has worked at US Nitrogen since August 2014, it says.
US Nitrogen believes in supporting our military employees for their service to our country, US Nitrogen plant manager Andy Velo said. The critical skills, training and leadership ability of our service member employees like Mike Musick enable them to be top performers at our company. It is our pleasure to have them on our team. ESGR is a Department of Defense program that promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component service members and their civilian employers.
The Patriotic Employer Award recognizes individual supervisors for contributions to advancing national security and supporting employee participation in the National Guard and reserve forces, the release concludes.
