Bicyclist Struck By Public Security Vehicle Early Monday In Cotswold
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A bicyclist has been taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries after being struck by a public safety vehicle on patrol Monday morning in Cotswold. The early morning accident occurred before 5 a.m. at Randolph Road and Rutledge Avenue, shutting down Monday morning traffic on the thoroughfare from Sharon Amity Road and Sardis Road. The road reopened to traffic after 7 a.m. The bicyclist was a male and has been hospitalized with suffered serious injuries, WSOCTV reported. WSOCTV posted a photo of the Guard One Public Safety patrol car with a smashed windshield. The public safety company confirmed to the station that it struck the bicyclist while is was patrolling the road.
