Great British Bake Off will have TWO Christmas specials on Channel 4
In case you’ve been living in a Bundt cake-shaped hole, Channel 4 will be the new home of The Great British Bake Off, airing its first series of the show later this year. Back in March, Prue Leith, Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding were all confirmed to be joining Paul Hollywood following Bake Off‘s controversial jump from its original home at the BBC to Channel 4 in a multi-million pound deal.
“On the day that they announced who the line-up was, they wanted to send a close protection officer,” Prue remembered. “I said, ‘Don’t be ridiculous, we absolutely do not need a copper standing there looking.’

“But they said, ‘No, no, no, we really must just to be on the safe side.’ What did they think is going to happen? I’m not likely to be trolled. This is a nice family show.”
Although there’s no premiere date for the brand new Bake Off just yet, Channel 4 are promising that its new episodes are “coming soon”.
