Mpls. guard has AK-47 pointed at him, leading to arrests, guns, $80 …

A security guard watching over private property in north Minneapolis had to summon police help after somebody in a large group of trespassers pointed an assault rifle at him Thursday night. By the time the incident was over, police had detained 11 people, recovered drugs, $80,000 cash and at least 10 firearms from one of the vehicles, said Sgt. Catherine Michal of the Minneapolis Police Department. The 29-year-old guard was working in the area of Dowling Avenue N. and Port of Minneapolis Drive just east of Interstate 94 when the gun-pointing occurred about 10:25 p.m. His 911 call touched off a manhunt in which at least 18 officers canvassed the area looking for suspects and multiple vehicles spotted leaving the property. A State Patrol helicopter also flew over the area to aid officers in the search, Michal said.
