Ouch, that s gotta hurt. Ed Sheeran revealed he once smashed Justin Bieber across the face with a golf club. No, this was not over royalties or something out of Celebrity Deathmatch just two friends and a lot of booze. Sheeran told The Guardian of the time he and the Canadian singer made some poor yet hilarious decisions at a dive bar in Japan. Bieber rarely bothers to justify his wild shenanigans, so it shouldn t come as too much of a surprise that the sober star challenged a drunk Sheeran to hit a golf ball out of Bieber s mouth! We d been out to a dive bar. He just drank water and I got hammered, Sheeran, 26, explained.
Then we went to a golf course, and he lay on the floor and put a golf ball in his mouth and told me to hit it out of his mouth. I was like, F**k, I need to aim this properly, and I swung.
And if you expected things to go smoothly, you ve probably never asked someone to tee off on your face. You know in films when someone gets punched, and you hear that fake sound, like a slap? But in real life when someone gets punched, you hear that dull thud, a bit sickening? I heard a sound like the last one, Sheeran revealed. Bieber s security guard was shocked by the scene, as was Sheeran himself. I d cracked Justin Bieber right in the cheek with a golf club That was one of those What the f**? moments. The two singers have had a budding relationship for years, with Sheeran penning several of Bieber s songs including Love Yourself .
As for the beer, Sheeran has decided to crack down but not because he cracked Bieber in the skull. The + x and singer admitted to losing a ton of weight after cutting beer out of his diet following his year-long hiatus. I ve lost like 50 pounds, he said during an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show. That was it, it was the beer. Speaking of Sheeran s celebrity friends, he also revealed when Taylor Swift would drop new music. In a one-on-one with the BBC, Sheeran said he expects the Bad Blood songstress to release new music towards the end of 2017. Taylor [Swift] isn t going to be releasing until probably the end of this year Christmas is the smartest time to release because that s when everyone buys records.
Busy times are ahead for the English singer-songwriter. Backed by two hit singles, Castle on the Hill and chart-topping Shape of You , Sheeran s third studio album will drop on Friday, March 3.
